Staples House

This compact beach house slides in behind a pre-existing garage, taking advantage of its non-conforming placement to create sheltered outdoor space on the lake side of the building. An open, airy layout creates flow from indoors to outdoors through large sliding doors. South facing windows allow the winter sun to stream in, fixed outdoor shades block the summer sun completely. The main bedroom occupies its own floor for maximum privacy, but the ensuite is accessed via a bridge through the foyer.
