La Frenz Winery

The La Frenz Estate Winery incorporates rooms for the storage and tasting of wine, in a vineyard setting overlooking Okanagan Lake. Designed to harmonize with the existing winery building, the low eaves and corrugated metal roof shelter the building from intense southern sun. The north side of the building opens up to expansive views, and a distinctive roof lantern allows the building to be naturally lit and ventilated. Cool air is drawn in from below the vines through low windows on the north side, and vented through automatic windows in the roof. The north facing windows allow for the clarity of the wine to be judged against a light background
